Here are my top six things you need to know before officially becoming a Clemson student (in no particular order):

 

1)On Fridays, we wear orange.

 

2)When the football team plays away games, they often come back to campus around midnight the night of the game. Head over to the west end zone and you can get pictures with the team and Dabo. Who doesn’t want that?!?

 

3)Just because you’re in college does not mean you can skip class. Don’t do it. Unless you’re in line for football tickets. Then it can sometimes be justified.

 

4)Introduce yourself to every professor sometime during the first week. It’ll make a difference, especially in big lecture classes.

 

5)The first floor of the library is a stellar place to study. 

 

6)In all seriousness, college is the time for you to find yourself. If you don’t think that you’re fit to be an engineer during the first semester, switch to that English major. Don’t stay in a major because it will make you the most money. The people who are happy in their job never work a day in their lives.
